In 1960, David Latimer planted a tiny garden inside of a large glass bottle and sealed it shut. He opened bottle 12 years later in 1972 to add some water and then sealed it for good. Self contained ecosystem has flourished for nearly 60 years.

Bab Al Mansur (the Gate if the victorious) built in the 1700s in Meknes, Morocco. It was the Gate of the royal (kasbah) citadel that was 3 times bigger than the city itself.

Church of Panagia in Chora, Greece. Church is dedicated to Assumption of Virgin Mary and was possibly constructed on ruins of an ancient temple. Construction of church is not known. However, a marble sign says that it was renovated in 1687 and it took its present form in 1821.

National Library of Greece, Athens. It was designed by Danish architect Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, as part of his famous Trilogy of neo-classical buildings including Academy of Athens and original building of Athens University. It was founded by Ioannis Kapodistrias, 1829 CE.
