NABARD Grade A Grade B exams are conducted for recruitment to the post of Assistant Manager (Grade A Officer) Manager (Grade B Officer) respectively.
As mentioned earlier, Grade A post holds a very prestigious rank in the country, and the responsibilities that rest on the shoulders of a Grade A officer are pretty huge.
Since the Grade B post is a step senior to that of a Grade A post, the responsibilities
are also greater.
The importance of institutional credit in boosting the rural economy has been clear to the Government of India (GOI) right from its early stages of planning.
The RBI at the insistence of the GOI constituted a Committee to Review the Arrangements For Institutional Credit for Agriculture and Rural Development (CRAFICARD).
The Committee was formed on 30 March 1979, under the Chairmanship of Shri B. Sivaraman. The recommendation of the Committee led to the formation of NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture Rural Development) on 12 July 1982 (under Act 61 of 1981).
The NABARD Grade A exam is conducted in 3 phases – Prelims (Phase 1), Mains (Phase 2) Interview (Phase 3).
While the NABARD Grade B exam is pretty similar to the Grade A exam, the only difference is that there’s an extra paper (analytical Paper on Development Economics, Statistics, Finance, and Management) that aspirants have to take in the second phase of the Grade B exam.
